TGI Fridays, You Deserve More Friday’s

With the opening of its 6th restaurant in Cyprus, TGI Friday's boosts its “Give Me More Stripes™” loyalty members card, through the new promotion “You Deserve More Friday’s”.

TGI Friday’s in association with GT Digital launched a GT Kiosk promotional campaign for the months of November 2013 to January 2014. As a result, TGI Friday’s enhanced the image of its loyalty program thereby increasing its loyalty membership base and its facebook fans.

Idea & Implementation

GT Digital introduced a fun and convenient method for TGI Friday’s new loyalty members sign up from its newly opened restaurant in Paphos. A branded interactive kiosk was installed at the entrance of TGI Friday’s.

Through the kiosk, visitors of the restaurant were able to register themselves into TGI Friday’s reward program and receive exclusive prizes ranging from money vouchers (€5 to €50) to Freebies (Desserts, Cocktails and Appetizers).

The kiosk application was integrated with facebook so that new members would be able to ‘Like’ TGI Friday’s Facebook and post on their wall so that their friends can find out they have been at TGI Friday’s.

Existing loyalty members were also able to swipe their card to update their personal data and enjoy the same benefits as newly enrolled members.

GT Digital created and developed the GUI, the kiosk application and the Facebook integration necessary to register or update the personal information of the loyalty members.  TGI Friday’s staff handled the onsite promotion of the campaign and invited guests to participate.

Objectives

The campaign aimed at updating the existing loyalty database and reaching more people by enrolling new members into the “Give Me More Stripes™” loyalty program, while increasing brand awareness and advertising the newly opened restaurant in Paphos.

Results

The success of the campaign was defined by the oversubscription numbers to the “Give Me More Stripes™” loyalty program whilst at the same time creating an exciting buzz. TGI Friday’s was also able to bring up to date its active database.

Furthermore, TGI Friday’s achieved an increase in the ‘Likes’ of its Facebook page, while it managed to establish a new communication channel with its consumers through the social media scene. Of great importance was the high redemption rate achieved for the coupons distributed through the kiosk, thus increasing sales for the period that the campaign was active.
